Facing the Wind by redy4et

Facing the Wind

Birds of a feather flock together, but have you ever wondered why they congregate on power poles at dusk, all facing the same direction? A little internet research turned up this: that they are communal, gather at a high place for safety and like to face into the wind for easy take off. They may also be gossiping about the neighbors and exchanging restaurant tips!

Thanks so much for faving my restaurant shots to the PP earlier this week!
Love it!

Love this! Fav'd it earlier, but had to come back and comment. I think you've used space so perfectly.

@taffy Thanks! I'm always intrigued by these scenes of sitting birds but usually there are ugly power lines in the way. When I saw these with the clouds behind them, I knew I had to take a shot.

Wonderful shot and great commentary!! Seriously, I think they are kvetching!! I also like seeing the sea gulls, one on top of each lamppost at dusk....need to look into that, too!
