It takes effort to garner a good sunset shot, even in Bagan, Myanmar. Arriving at the chosen sight, we first hiked about a half mile with our gear, took off our shoes, climbed barefoot up about 100 narrow stone steps and set up on a small ledge. The view from the top did not disappoint! And the real test was coming down those steps, in the pitch black. Once misstep would have been a catastrophe. Fortunately, the sun gods smiled on us, granted us some good shots and allowed us to reach our seats in the waiting van unscathed.
Gorgeous!! So well worth all that hike (and, I just visualized myself trying to hike half a mile with all my photo gear, and I just collapsed!), and the wait! Love all the layers of the temples, the distant hills, the clouds and the sunset! Big FAV!!
This is amazing and so worth the time/effort/danger. It's stunning. Reminds me of the rolling mountains in our sunset shots in Tennesse's Smokies. But this has the variety of the temple in silhouette. WOW!
