Church of the Presidents by redy4et

Church of the Presidents

St. John's Church, built in 1816, has served as the chapel to the White House for 200 years. Every U.S. President since James Madison has worshipped here on some occasion. The Classical style church, walking distance from the White House, is one of the few remaining original buildings left near Lafayette Park. Services are held every Sunday morning.
Such a strong architectural image, with great lighting and tack sharp focus. Looks like you had such a great trip there.

I love that you took an a-typical vantage point to photograph! I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know of this church, though I'm sure I've seen events take place here over the years. Thanks for sharing an interesting history!
