Forty magnificent frescoed maps of Italy cover the 120 meter-long Gallery of Maps in the Vatican Museum. The different regions are shown from an aerial perspective. We were fortunate to be able to see them because the gallery had just undergone extensive renovation, opening to the public just 2 days before we arrived.
