This is the first thing you see when you arrive in Bodie, an old mining town east of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I liked the golden glow from the late afternoon sun on the roof of the church and surrounding buildings. It's a National Historic Landmark that attracts thousands of visitors in the warm months. It's inaccessible during the winter due to heavy snowfall and bad roads.
I really enjoy your pictures of Bodie. Great comp and colours in this one. It's always wonderful to see places I have been, and see it through others eyes.
Wow! I can't believe you got to see Bodie! I have wanted to see it for many years and will one day when I can travel again. This has got to be one of the most fascinating and well-preserved ghost towns anywhere. I recommend the Images of America book "Bodie: 1859-1962." Great collection of photos. Published by Arcadia Publishing.
@congaree Thanks for recommending the book! I'll have to get it. I had never heard of the town until we made the trek there and found it quite a
fascinating place. You have to make a West Coast trip to see it for yourself at some point.
