The Only Thing Missing is Sleeping Beauty

Inveraray Castle in western Scotland is a classic example of Gothic Revival architecture.The 13th Duke of Argyll lives here with his family on the upper floors. The lower floors are open to visitors. For lovers of Downton Abbey, the 2012 Christmas episode was filmed here. I didn't know about that when I visited in July but last week I was watching Downton Abbey and just about fell off the sofa when I saw the TV entourage pull up to the castle. I had taken scores of photos of many of the castle's interior rooms so it felt like old home week.
