Low Country Style

Low Country style architecture was designed for the subtropical climate of South Carolina. The wide shady verandas that wrap around the house gave residents a place to relax and socialize. The double-hung windows with an opening at the top allowed hot air to escape and the opening at the bottom let in the cool evening air. It was fun to walk in this neighborhood enjoying the beautifully preserved, elegant homes. Many of them are more than 200 years old.
Beautiful house!

Most attractively restful...although I'd be concerned about keeping all that paintwork in good order.
