The first storm of the season blanketed the San Jacinto Mountains with snow. I woke to see palms in the foreground, beautiful white snowy peaks looming behind them. This mountain range runs from Southern California to the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. It forms the western edge of the Coachella Valley -an area that includes the resort cities of Palm Springs, Indian Wells and La Quinta.
