Located on the eastern edge of the Grand Canyon is an area known as Desert View with its stone lookout tower, designed by architect Mary Colter in 1932. Built in the style of the people of the Pueblo nation, the tower is slowly being restored but isn't currently open to the public. From here you can see the muddy Colorado River winding through the base of the canyon. This was our final stop as we traveled from the South Rim road toward Northern Arizona.
A wonderful capture of this classic scene. I just found a photo from there that I took in 2006 -- needless to say the quality does NOT compare!! Your images have been wonderful!
Great shot. Love your point of view on this shot. I have been there several times and have not seen this beautiful building from this perspective. Well done.
