It's estimated there are about 80 adult Big Horn Sheep in the Coachella Valley, commonly seen in steep rocky habitats. Well adapted to the extreme heat of summer and cold winters, they can live up to 15 years in the wild. Parks, like the Living Desert Reserve, help protect them by providing a healthy natural habitat and conducting scientific studies to help them survive the impacts of climate change.
