Enjoyed a magical cruise on the Zambezi in search of Hippos and Crocs---it was a scene right out of the movie "African Queen." The Zambezi, most noted for the wondrous Victoria Falls, forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, crosses into Mozambique and empties into the Indian Ocean. The sounds of song birds, grunting Hippos, and the whir of the power boat's outboard motor made for a delightful time on the mighty river. The gin and tonics as "sundowners" were a nice touch. Try balancing a drink, a camera and binoculars on a boat that is motoring at full speed and maneuvering to stay within sight of the Hippos but far enough away so they don't capsize the boat!
....and, I hope they know how to maneuver around these low branches!! Beautiful river shot, looks so peaceful, but you can sense there is danger lurking around the corner. So, what you need to do is have hubby hold your drink while you are shooting hippos with your zoom lens (which, BTW, I use as binocular substitute!), and take sips in between!
