Currently on exhibit at the Palm Springs Museum of Art are these large-scale charcoal drawings by Robert Longo entitled “The Storm of Hope.” This gallery is immense, probably 50-feet wide, so the in-person effect was staggering. The 12-foot high images look like photographs but on closer inspection, they are actually hyper-realistic drawings done in charcoal.
