“What sort of person am I?” by rhoing

“What sort of person am I?”

Today was drive-home day. 580+ miles (943+ km). So here I am after 11 p.m. and no image.

A particular speaker-writer says, "Show me your books and I'll tell you what sort of person you are." Well, Matthew, here are 5 of my "active" books; note the book marks. Soooo, what sort of person am I?

Missing is _Essential Sculling_, which I need to finish before sculling camp next month!
This is my 3rd or 4th attempt at _World Without End_, but I am determined this time!!
I am going to take a crack at this. I think you are one with a need to know, someone who doesn't find rest until he has made an honest attempt at solving a problem, and you will go to extremes at times depending on the circumstance. With that drive to know, you also struggle with the thought of an easy faith, or "blind" faith. You would be one who would want to study such things to know as much about it rather than just "accepting" it blindly, but at the same time you are searching, and your heart is open because it is something that seems to pull you in that direction. Now tell me how far off the mark I was LOL

@digitalrn Gulp. How far off the mark? I suspect that Clare and my “Saturday morning breakfast guys” would say that you’re dead-center of the bulls-eye, Rick! I am curious. Inherently curious. Possibly to a fault. (I think all professors, almost by definition perhaps, are curious.) But the inner mathematician does make faith a sometimes-daily struggle. While a “blind faith” would be easy, I don’t think that’s what I seek. I guess I seek enough “balance” and perspective that I can always get back to a not-so-easily-grasped faith, though it may take some work and effort on any given day…

[Wow, I didn’t expect this introspective journey. Three nights ago I just needed a quick image!]

Love that this shot was on a whim! It's a great idea and love that Rick hit the bulls-eye on you! I would have to agree with much of what he said!!

@exposure4u Thank you, Wendy! Some of my best-and-favorite shots — over 30+ years of semi-serious photography — have been whims or desperation, surprises or accidents. And isn't that fun for us non-professionals!?!

I can say, having known Thom for 36 years, that you are on the money, Rick! You could do a carnival act analyzing folks by asking them to bring in 5 books they are currently reading!
