Desperation

Desperation in the 23rd hour, yes, but also curiosity. This is from a stem of “greens” that came with a floral delivery for Clare’s recent birthday. On the underside of many of the leaves is this little “nub” on what I might call the centerline of the leaf. I don't know what function it might serve, but there is little in the natural world that's arbitrary. Will have to ask Dan, Karen or Rich!

Also, I was home sick all day, so this is all I have. :-\
