I live in Sachem Heaven…

Ten frames today, and all I saw was skippers. This is probably yet another Sachem (Atalopedes campestris), but with this shot I can at least include some color.

Today I had an email exchange with my regional coordinator at BAMONA and one of his comments was this: “You know (I am sure) that some authors refer to butterflies and skippers as if they were two separate groups and sometimes I wish they were…” Indeed!

Confirmed at BAMONA as Atalopedes campestris or “Sachem”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/929879

Gah! It turns out I photographed a new skipper today, after all! Peck’s Skipper (Polites peckius); http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/929887
