‘Indian strawberry’?

A friend told me this is “Indian Strawberry” or “Mock Strawberry” (“Potentilla indica” in the Rosaceae family). This is something we did not plant in our garden, yet there it is. We consider it “invasive” and a nuisance.

I have tons of these in my garden. I was so excited to see the foliage this spring. I was hoping for fresh strawberries, then I realized they are inedible. ;( The're still very lovely, even if you can't eat them!
