New life in the midst of loss…

Today we drove to our hometown for a funeral. Clare’s aunt and godmother passed away three days ago at the age of 85½. This shot was taken at the funeral home and is Clare’s mom holding her late sister’s great-grandson (making the little tyke mom’s great-great nephew, right?). Mom’s only sister was a special woman in so many ways. One particular “connection”: it was her aunt’s wedding dress that Clare wore when Clare and I were married almost 35 years ago…
