American sweet gum by rhoing

American sweet gum

I'm pretty sure the tree ID is correct. Whether this will be leaves or flowers or fruit — i.e., the infamous "sticker balls" — however, I do not know. I have submitted the image for identification.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the sharpness of this image; I used the Nikon point-and-shoot, not the macro lens on the Canon EOS T2i!
