High chair

This evening we went to dinner at the home of a friend of Clare's we've known for a long time (17 years?) and this was in their dining room. I think she said her *grandmother* used this when her *grandmother* was the baby. I will have to double-check on this.

Note the wheels and how the "tray" moves out of position. This likely would *not* pass consumer- and child-safety rules now! But a beautiful example of fine workmanship in wood … but served — and would still serve — a particular and useful *function*.

Thank you for a wonderful meal and evening, Jean & George!
