Long row today in the new shell. About 10 miles or so. Great row down the lake on a gorgeous day.
Coming back I caught a pop-up shower. Not knowing how long it would last or how severe it would be, I was a bit anxious in a still-unfamiliar boat.
But I made it back to the dock and after I had the gear loaded in my car and the boat on top, I saw this guy take his chair down to the end of the dock and sit. While it may vaguely appear that he's reading a news paper, he has nothing but his thoughts.
I shot two frames with the wide-angle zoom, one portrait and one landscape. I didn't know which image would be more effective since the dock runs away from me in this perspective, but I thought it more important to give this a more "panoramic" feel, so I chose the landscape version and cropped out more height. I hope this more effectively shows how "alone" he is out there at the end of the dock. I guess you could cover the left and right and make it a portrait image. So, portrait or landscape?
