Dude, there are ants crawling on your face!

From one of my wildlife experts, this is a Common or Eastern box turtle (“Terrapene carolina”). S/he was at the lake when I arrived … and was still in the same spot in the grass after I loaded up *after* a nice long row on the water. Hey, the day was heating up and it was shady here, so who can blame the little guy?

Today I noticed that a structural part of my "new" rowing shell is fractured. This was possible because of the partially-see-through decking. I will try to contact the designer-engineer-manufacturer for some advice…
