Arabesque Orbweaver

Today was the annual family croquet game with Clare's mom and her brothers at Clare's mom's new home. Every year it seems the gathering gets smaller, but we had a spirited game with eight of the possible 18. This was an observer on a fence post, with my P&S making a pretty good close-up!

Confirmed at BugGuide as “Neoscona arabesca” or “Arabesque Orbweaver”; http://bugguide.net/node/view/1138520

Amazing detail for a point and shoot camera. Love your title!

You have the same P & S that I have--I like it for bike riding. It did a great job on catching the "hairy" legs of this spider!

@jbritt I wish I could take credit for the title, but it's the name of the spider species!

@cejaanderson I love this camera! It's clearly up-to-the-task for many close-ups; I like the GPS feature for giving plant photos a location for my botanist friend who needs location; and I have used its underwater application for snorkeling in Hawaii and photographing my nephews in a swimming pool! As you know, Jane, it's a great little camera!
