My first MRI

I've been going to physical therapy for 5+ weeks and while I am much, much better, I am certainly not [completely] well and not able to pursue all "activities of daily life." So my doctor requested authorization for a C-spine MRI, which scan I had this morning. This is the set of images on the screen when I was finished. Now we wait for the radiologist to provide his "impressions" and send them to my doctor.

In other news, the kids arrive tonight! All four! Neither of our vehicles could accommodate 6 passengers plus luggage for 4, so we're renting a vehicle to fetch them from the airport in St. Louis. Initially it was going to be a minivan, in which we would probably still have been crowded, but Hertz called and said we'd get a Chevy Suburban. (I confirmed that it would be for the same price!)

» Although it's difficult to know what things "really cost," before "discounting" the facility billed this scan at $2,000.
» In the upper-left scan, bulging discs are apparent and this was one of the items highlighted in the doctor's report. Now I have a 2/2 appointment with the "neck-and-spine guy"…

@danette I'm not a fan of IVs in the top of the hand, but like MRIs, they serve a purpose. My MRI went well; the tech said he wished everyone were as "still" as I apparently was. That was 3 weeks ago and I'm still 3 weeks out from the app't with the neck-and-spine specialist. These things take time. Meanwhile, still going to PT and as you commented before, PT is the best!

I just never thought it would bother me to be inside the machine, but apparently it does! I can be still but it's hard for me to be in there for 30 minutes.
