Vintage fixture with CFL

At the theater again for the final steps of updating the computer to Windows 10. This old fixture is in the stairwell up to the office … but it was "updated" to a twisted, compact fluorescent light bulb. I'm often struck by the "visual" of one of these twisted bulbs in either a fixture that obviously *is* old or is designed to *look* old. It's kind of a disruptive image for me! I guess it's a "What's wrong with this picture?" thing for me.

[The repair job on my P&S is holding — http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2016-01-10 — though I haven't dropped it on concrete or pavement yet!]

I agree! Just doesn't look right, somehow!

I like your emphasis on form.

I agree about the new bulbs, it's just not quite right. It's a great looking shade though.
I updated to Windows 10 but one of my older programs didn't work so I went back to 8.1.
