“Old Glove Factory”

Hey, not a filler!!
The so-called Old Glove Factory in Carbondale. I think it's been several things in just our 34 years here, but part of the University's School of Art and Design is now here. Really like all the glass block.

This is also the location of a cantilevered fire escape I posted 13½ months ago, http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2015-12-08

This entrance is on the east side.
The fire escape is on the south side.
Here's an old photo from the south-west, http://thesouthern.com/old-carbondale-glove-factory/image_cfc48684-da93-11e1-9ca1-0019bb2963f4.html

That glass block stuff came in some years ago but I still think its so good! I'd love to have an internal wall of these!

@frankhymus My point-and-shoot surprisingly didn't do badly keeping vertical lines vertical. My effort in this regard was merely holding the camera as high as I could…

Do love the glass blocks. Nice brick color, too. Cool shot Thom.

@maggiemae Ooh, in the right place, that could be very, very cool!

@thewatersphotos I wonder if the brick color belies its period of construction (when that kind of color scheme was popular)!

@rhoing Pretty good! Yes, getting the lines right, horizontal too, out of the camera is a great exercise in learning about "straight on" shooting all all axes. And about how you actually do hold your camera...

@frankhymus Straight on, indeed, and the angle or orientation of the camera!
