Eastern Tiger Swallowtail by rhoing

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

A swallowtail in our garden. One of the most "cooperative" species of butterflies for being photographed.

The species and sex IDs are straightforward: the blue wash indicates that this is a "light-morph female"; see http://bugguide.net/node/view/491#id

Confirmed at BugGuide as female “Papilio glaucus” or “Eastern Tiger Swallowtail”; http://bugguide.net/node/view/1442608

@maggiemae I cropped about 10% from the upper-left corner of the original. My EF IS 55-250mm lens is pretty good, but after the eclipse (now), I'd like a better lens. Or a telescope. I can't decide!! Thanks for the FAV!
