Vintage Base Ball - Huzzah!

I've long wanted to watch one of these matches. Fascinating! Today the Columbus Buckeyes came to Fremont to play the Spiegel Grove Squires. They play by 1860s rules and customs, so the “ballists” play bare-handed. Another interesting difference from modern baseball: putouts occur if a batted ball is caught “on the one bound off the ground or on the fly, fair or foul.”

Very interesting! Seems like they posed for you--did they?

@janeandcharlie No, they did not pose for me! It's an informal setting: you bring your own lawn chairs so I could use a tree for cover to get closer. :)
