Fading… by rhoing

Fading…

This is definitely a Painted Lady, but it certainly doesn't have the four distinctive eye spots typically characteristic of the species. My expert at BAMONA says this is probably an old individual whose colors have faded.

Oh, and our daughter is in labor!
Tomorrow we drive to Nashville, then fly to Boston!

ID'ed at BAMONA as “Vanessa cardui” or “Painted Lady”; https://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1148922
