53rd Head of the Charles Regatta

Our granddaughter had the consideration to be born the weekend before the annual Head of the Charles Regatta, the world's largest two-day rowing event. So today Clare & I got out of the house with our younger daughter and her husband and attended the first day of the regatta. We wanted to give the family-of-three some together time on a weekend day.

This looks like the California Rowing Club entry in the "Men's Master Eights [40+]," https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/entries/competitors/?job_id=4977&event_id=24
I think the cox might be the Canada's national team cox…
Fun day! Beautiful day to walk along the river with two of our kids!

Thoughtful of you to do this and good to see the regatta!

I'll bet you enjoyed that. My friend's son has competed in this.

I appreciate this so much more after reading "The Boys in the Boat." As you can imagine, rowing is not a big competitive sport in Albuquerque, so I have learned through reading and photos instead of actually viewing a race.

They all look very fit. It's fun watching the racing too. And nice to give the new family some time.
