Montréal Tower from the Botanical Garden

After a morning tour going into the Underground City, for our "on your own" afternoon, we took the subway out to the Botanical Garden, walking by Montréal Tower and Olympic Park, site of the 1976 Olympics.

From https://parcolympique.qc.ca/en/what-to-do/the-montreal-tower/ » “At 165 metres high with a 45-degree angle, the Montréal Tower is the tallest inclined tower in the world. It is an architectural masterpiece, and the secret to its extraordinary tilt can be found in its complex internal structure.

“The glass-encased funicular brings visitors on a breathtaking two-minute ride to the top of the Tower. This one-of-a-kind funicular can hold up to 50 passengers and is the only one in the world built along a curved structure.

“The view of Montréal from the Tower’s Observatory is stunning in any season.”

It's only late-May at 45°N latitude, so there weren't many outside plants in flower yet, but it was a lovely walk. More » http://espacepourlavie.ca/en/botanical-garden

What were the cables attached to at the other end? Were they like the ones on a suspension bridge? Do you think this was made to look like the bow of a ship? Did you go on the ride inside to the top?

And no; we did not ride the funicular!

Absolutely incredible building. I love quirky architecture and this certainly fits that bill xx
