Family reunion in Kentucky. Today we visited a couple cemeteries and God bless Clare for coming on the awful hike to visit this home, its associated barn and family cemetery.
This home was built before the Civil War and was the home of great-great-great grandparents of mine, https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-08-18
The home and cemetery are in rough shape and declining rapidly. While my brother and I ventured inside 20+ years ago on our first visit, I did not go inside the last three times I've been here. Because of roof problems, the stability of the floor is suspect. Nevertheless, a couple of my 4th-cousins in the previous group today did go up the stairs to see the bedrooms, though I take it they did not step away from the head of the stairs!

What a fabulous image to have--and to know this exists. How courageous of your cousins to go upstairs. No thanks! I am currently putting together some history books for my nieces and nephews to have. It's been a lot of work.
