I was going through my butterfly and moth photos and found this one, taken in 2014 at the coffee plantation on Molokai. I wasn't sure Butterflies and Moths of North America would accept a submission from Hawaii, but there are some sightings from Hawaii and it didn't take me a long time (in 2019) to find a likely ID.
ID’ed as Ascalapha odorata or “Black Witch”: [ BAMONA ] [ BugGuide ]
Although photographed in Hawaii, this species is also found in the continental US.
