Fairbanks Community & Dog Mushing Museum. For a small, local museum this is very well done. Dog mushing is a fascinating sport, but as we learned at the visitor center, it's also a necessary means of transportation in remote areas with this climate. In fact, the National Park Service maintains a kennel at Denali National Park, because it's the only way their rangers and scientists can travel within the park in winter.
