Moss. Just Moss. by rhoing

Moss. Just Moss.

I hoped I would learn some things about this through my plant expert, but mosses are non-vascular plants and his focus is mostly on vascular plants: “Both lay people and botanists call these bryophytes moss (Bryopsida). There are three major groups of bryophytes, mosses, liverworts, and hornworts. In addition, there are these things called lichens that are a symbiotic association between a fungus and an alga or cyanobacterium. And we also have true fungi photos but they are an eclectic mix of things.

As for Phytoimages, we do have photos there for all of these groups, but unfortunately we don’t have the taxonomic system loaded in yet. This is scheduled to happen this coming fall. So if you know the genus, …

I do not know the genus. When I have time, he gave me a location of a couple hundred photos to look through…

That is the same moss I've been trying to pin down with an ID! Nothing to really help with the discover life website and that's where I normally ID my finds of mosses and lichens. Great shot!
