Simple things we [may] take for granted

Today at the Habitat site “we” worked on two sets of steps like these. It’s not as simple as you might think. I exchanged texts with my house-flipping brother-in-law and he reported (as a matter of preference) that he likes to use full-width strings without the notches we see here, and support the treads with brackets nailed or screwed to the stringers.

Now that's interesting. I need a new set of steps for my shed. After it gets a new roof.
