Because of the way we “solved” this puzzle, and it seemed like it would be simple to count the missing pieces … I counted the missing pieces. It’s just the pieces between the figures that are missing, right? I was (and am) a bit surprised by the result.

@rhoing Not me. I start with the hard part first, then the rest comes together pretty quick. I like the challenge of working from the middle out to the edge when I work a puzzle. =)
@marlboromaam Ah, but if you do the easy bits first, then you clear out pieces that aren't part of the harder bits. Like @kvphoto we are outside-in solvers!
@rhoing Yes, but it's the zen of doing it the other way that I love. I'll do a collage maybe. The outside pieces go together in a flash when the inside is done.
