Our brains. Our perceptions…

What percentage of the puzzle is completed?

Because of the way we “solved” this puzzle, and it seemed like it would be simple to count the missing pieces … I counted the missing pieces. It’s just the pieces between the figures that are missing, right? I was (and am) a bit surprised by the result.

Pretty cool the way you did that!

@marlboromaam It’s basic economics, actually: you do the easy stuff first (the so-called “low-hanging fruit”)!

@rhoing Not me. I start with the hard part first, then the rest comes together pretty quick. I like the challenge of working from the middle out to the edge when I work a puzzle. =)

@marlboromaam That’s fascinating to me! Good for you!

@rhoing Something my parents taught me a very long time ago... Do the hard part first, then the rest is easy.

I’m an outer to inner puzzler.

@marlboromaam Ah, but if you do the easy bits first, then you clear out pieces that aren't part of the harder bits. Like @kvphoto we are outside-in solvers!

@marlboromaam @kvphoto And no one has guessed what percentage of the puzzle is completed in the image or did you count the missing pieces?
November 21st, 2024
@rhoing Yes, but it's the zen of doing it the other way that I love. I'll do a collage maybe. The outside pieces go together in a flash when the inside is done.

I have no idea how many pieces are left, but less than a third I would guess.

It seems that the most challenging pieces are now left to match :-)
Great puzzle!

Interesting. East to “not see” those pieces.

@randystreat There are 200 pieces left: 20% of a 1000-piece puzzle. I was astonished that “only” 80% was done.

I will take your word for this one
