I know it's my theater major/drama teacher background at work here, but as I was photographing this rotting tree stump today, the lighting and the color difference caused me to see a tragedy mask on the side of this tree trunk, almost as if the wood spirit was mourning the time it had once been a thriving tree but now reduced to this.
