The yellow-crowned night-heron caught this crab and immediately ran up to the beach area where it could set it down and start to work on it. Just surprised that the crab didn't reach up with the other claw and grab the neck. Once the crab was set down, it went into the attack mode, but the heron managed to get by the claws, and lunch was served.

Watched one the other day break one into pieces and then send it down. Not sure exactly how this one is going to go down, as big as that crab was. Guess I should have stayed around a little longer to see just how it was done.
