Did manage to get out for just a few minutes, just as the rain was beginning to start. So had to cover the camera up and walked over to my Eagle nest viewing point. Got a couple of shots at this point, and then noticed movement at the nest, and then saw this one flying over toward me. Was just a little bit out of range for the best of shots. Think dad might have been going out for dinner.
Great subject. Looking at your EXIF info, I think you can increase your shutter speed, so that your shots would likely be sharper. You have room to do that if you reduce your f stop to 5.6 and/or increase your ISO. Your camera can handle higher ISO. Are you using auto the ISO feature; It takes some of the guess work out of shots are suddenly presented without time to check settings.
@mjalkotzy Thanks Martin. I had set it up the way that you mentioned some time back. Do have it on auto ISO and that is why I think the ISO is showing so low. It's set at 3200, but depending on the light, as you know, it will drop. Probably need to change the shutter speed and aperture and see how that works. Appreciate the hints. and yes, its really hard to change things on a moments notice. Thanks again.
@rickster549 Okay, well it sounds like you check your selected speed setting as well as your ISO range. For flight shots, I have my speed set at 1/3200 s and my ISO range is between 200 - 6400, as I recall.
