Extremely low tide tonight so was able to get down under the pier instead of on top of the pier. Just wish there had been more clouds above the pier.

The patterns in the sand caught my eye right off. What a beautiful scene.
(You asked about which lens I've been using in my December pics... Lensbaby's Composer Pro with the "Sweet 50" lens insert. It's a tilt lens, which is what creates the unique bokeh out of the fairy lights in the background. Many of the pics have also had the macro adapter ring added in.
