Good morning world by riverlandphotos

Good morning world

Standing on a drawbridge for this one. People whizzing by me just an arm's length away. Yowza! The trucks with trailers were really jarring. I wouldn't mind a bit shaved off the posterior, but I'll stick to the bicycle for that.
I focused on the background and the foreground's a little soft. Wonder if I should have done it the other way round?
Ah, I needed that this morning. Thankyou. Fav!

I like the focus being on the clouds and further into the image. I think we have lost realism in our imagery these days, expecting everything to be tack-sharp throughout. My eyes don't work like that, what I'm looking at is in focus and that softly drops off away from that area.

Lovely colours and that wake from the small boat is perfect on the river!

Oh, this is just stunning! The windy curves, the soft mauve tones, the incredible reflections -- an instant fav.

Great colors and composition! I see that you have aperture f/5 here.. When you shoot landscape, it should be at least 7.1 or 9. I even use f/11 most of the time. Of course if it's already too dark and cannot use closed aperture, shutter speed should be slower.

@velina Thanks, Velina. I usually shoot about f/12 on a landscape, but I was messing around and then I noticed the reflection of the light in the wake - which is why I had to choose this. Sometimes I freak out ;o) Will check out your work.

This is gorgeous. Love the colors. Hard to imagine it not being peaceful in person, but with traffic whizzing by, I am sure it was anything but. I was told by a fellow in my camera club to focus on an object 1/3 into the scene to get the most focus throughout. I don't know if this is true. I haven't really read up on it.
