Ruined Church

The church of St Mary's near the village of Colston Bassett in the Vale of Belvoir. This is quite an interesting place for a wander round it sits on a small hill so is easy to spot from the road. Although the church has been unused since 1744 the grave yard still seems to be in use with some gravestone dated in the 2,000's.
It would be a wonderful place to explore. Wonderful shot with the light on the church and the clouds in the sky adding some drama.

Fascinating. My country hadn't even been "invented" at that point.

Hard to believe it has been unused for all that time. It is in remarkable condition. Crying out to be renovated and given life!
