Hitchin a Lift by rjb71

Hitchin a Lift

It was very windy a Duxford yesterday so when any of the Spitfires landed two people had to sit in the tail to prevent any risk of ground looping due to the strong wind. This was a tried and tested method in WW2. There was even a incident where a WAAF lady was left sitting on the tail when the Spitfire took off as the pilot had forgotten about her!
