Granted an educated hunch! I had a feeling the BBMF Lancaster would fly over Rutland Water today on its way to Sywell in Northamptonshire and i wasn't wrong! We arrived with around 5 minutes to spare and just got to the shore line as it passed almost directly over us. As this was its last public appearance this year we then drove up to RAF Cranwell to catch it on the return leg. The RAF must know how to navigate the weather as it was sunny on both occasions even though the rest of the day was wet!
Yes it is a Lancaster. The Lancaster and the Vulcan are my two favourite planes of all times. We used to see both of them when we were at Scampton. I didn't realize the Lancaster was still flying. What a sight to see. fav.
Wonderful capture!
