Face of a Killer! by rjb71

Face of a Killer!

Was lucky enough to spot this Weasel whilst visiting the Eyebrook Reservoir today. Weasels are prolific killers despite their small size 6-8 inches long they can easily kill and carry away a full grown rabit!
Great shot

Wow, not an easy shot to make !

Sadly that's true. My friend's pet rabbit was murdered by one. Shame as he has a cute face. They are an introduced pest here in NZ, and play havoc killing our native birds

@baileyadam thanks!
@etienne thanks I was lucky it paused for a few seconds before crossing the road. They are certainly fast!

Great catch....There is a saying that ‘a weasel is weasel-ey recognised and a stoat is stoat-ally different’, but it only serves to confirm how difficult it is to tell the two species apart.

@maggiemae Thanks. Yes I've heard that saying. Identification is all in the tail. The weasel has a plain brown tail where as the Stoat has a black tip.
