Rutland is currently in the spotlight after a fossilised dinosaur skeleton was found at Rutland water. It’s a Ichthyosaurs and would have died around 180 million years ago. Anyway I found something older the moon! The moon is approximately 4.53 billion years old! Taken with my D7200 150 600 lens and 1.4 tc.
It’s quite ironic really that at that time the Midlands was under water & yet in my life time I remember them flooding the valley to make Rutland Water!
Great moon shot!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I was talking to one of the wardens on new years eve he told me there would be a big announcement but wouldn't tell me what it was.
Don't have a telly, but I read on line about the exciting find, absolutely wonderful.
Super moon shot too, and as you say, just a bit older than the Iichthyosaurus
Fab moon shot
