Today we drove to Stoke on Trent - not the kind of place I'd normally go for a nice walk but there's a wonderful ancient woodland on the edge of the city, close to the Cheshire border that is packed with all sorts of lovely spring flowers..

it came as a surprise to us too - it's surrounded by industrial estates of one side and views across the Cheshire plain on the other
