lapwings

I didn't take any photos today so this is another of yesterday's shots, just lapwings this time. These were on the shady side but I liked the little bit of sunlight catching some of the colours on one bird.

Lapwings are great birds. I see fewer than I used to, too.

Thanks everyone. These birds have suffered a big decline and are now a red list species at the RSPB - severe decline and globally threatened. I still see them fairly often in the peak district, but not in huge numbers sadly.
