Rebuilding a derelict wall by roachling

Rebuilding a derelict wall

We dismantled the remains, graded the stone, flattened the ground, laid foundation stones and then built up a fine dry stone wall (fine for a bunch of novices at least!) over the weekend. I've been on a dry stone walling course this weekend, great fun and I learned a lot and met some nice people too. I've wanted to learn walling for years - a good opportunity came along recently and I took it!
Cool! I saw some people in training in Otley today too. Great that its not dying out as an art.

@fueast Thanks - I had a great weekend! I'll never make a professional waller but it was was a good skill to learn and I'd hope to be able to put them to some use, even if I just volunteer to help rebuild a few walls for local conservation work parties etc!

Sounds like a fun and useful course to take.
