Went to see what was in a pond this afternoon but found it was dry so investigated a nearby water trough and found diving beetles, snails and tadpoles.
I took the grouse moor route home and saw some little grouse chicks and this juvenile golden plover.
I really like the plover, also your comp and dof and the texture of the grass, fav. The bird seems to arise beautifully out of the grass. Were you lying down to take this?
@tristansmum no, the bird was on the edge of a hill which was a bit higher than I was and my camera was at maximum zoom to take this (I was in my car, quite far away!)
